AirStarPD™ is built on the Allen Bradley MicroLogix PLC platform and designed to meet all NEC standards.  Components are housed in a standard NEMA 12 enclosure, offering eight standard analog inputs, fourteen digital inputs, plus ten digital outputs.  No proprietary hardware is provided.  For peace of mind, the HMI serves as the operator interface for all machine control functions, all set-point entry, as well as all system monitoring that includes live data and historical data with event logs.

AirStarPD™ data table is configured to 3PX standards, providing easy access from the 3PX-Backbone™ data concentrator for master control (sequencing) solutions, and SCADA or remote monitoring.

Industry Standard Automation - Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMIs

Built on the Allen-Bradley line of factory automation by Rockwell, Case Controls uses ZERO proprietary parts. This means customers are free to select from a worldwide distribution network and multiple vendors for Rockwell Automation Allen-Bradley hardware.

Documentation

Complete new documentation sets including wiring diagrams, part’s lists, and user-manuals which thoroughly address set-up, tuning, troubleshooting and operations.

Ethernet/IP Communications

Native Ethernet/IP and Modbus communication protocol. Other protocols are optional for connection to any third-party system.

Reciprocating Variable Capacity

Control is available for Reciprocating Air Compressors.

Special Retrokits Available

Atlas Copco Elektronikon - IR Intellisys and Xe - Sullair Supervisor - Hitachi, and many other Retrokits include additional instruments and transmitters for complete installation. In some instances, the PLC requires a new enclosure due to space limitations in the existing enclosure.

Variable Speed Drive

Control is optional for Rotary Screw Compressors.

AirStarPD compatible with 3PX-Backbone™

Via common communication drivers, this feature enables and permits the electronic integration of Case Controllers with numerous third-party controllers.

Retrokits

AirStarPD™ retrokits are designed for reduced installation time and compressor downtime.  Typical installation can be completed in approximately 6-8 hours.  Retrokits are available for the following OEM control systems on reciprocating and rotary screw air compressors:

Ingersoll-Rand – Intellisys, Xe 145, Electro-pneumatic systems

Atlas Copco – Elektronikon III, IV, and V, Electro-pneumatic systems

Sullair – Supervisor, Supervisor II, STS, and Electro-pneumatic systems

Retrokits include additional instrumentation and all necessary devices to complete installation. In most systems, the unreliable pressure and temperature switches are replaced with analog sensors for machine monitoring and safety. In some installations, the PLC/HMI will not physically fit within the OEM enclosure, an additional satellite enclosure is supplied.
